school holiday survival

Not the usual blog, but I figured with it being school holidays here in Canberra, I would share a little survival tip the kids and I invented.

We are always looking for things to do, but can never remember all the great things to do when we want to do them!! So I asked my six year old to right down some ideas and things that he thought he (and the two little ones) would like to do during the school holidays. He came up with loads of great ideas, like laser tag, a trip to the snow and the usual…Questacon.

We are blessed in Canberra to have so many great museums and other fun things to do, anyway, I got him to write them all down (and a few that I added, to make sure we didn’t go bankrupt), then I cut them all up into strips and put them in a bowl and got each of the kids to pick something out for each day of the holidays. Now we have a full week planned of fun things to do, and luckily, the only thing this week that costs money is the trip to a play centre! Yippee!!

The only rule is… DON’T ARGUE WITH THE BOWL!! So only put things in the bowl that you are happy to do. :)
